Harvest and Fuente de Salvación Methodist Church –
United in Prayer

As part of “Methodists United in Prayer (MUIP)” - the relationship between the Florida Conference of The United Methodist Church and The Methodist Church of Cuba - Harvest and Fuente de Salvación (translated: Fountain of Salvation) became "sister churches" in 2015. The church is a one hour drive northeast of Holguin in the eastern part of the country (click for map).

Harvest returned to Cuba on May 30 for a week-long visit to sister church Fuente de Salvación. This team consisted of Barbara and Andrew Moore, Rebecca Nickens, Jackson Lawson and team leader Diane McCoy.  Join them July 29 at Harvest from 11:45-1:15 for an authentic Cuban lunch and to hear about the team's experience on this trip.

The purpose of this trip was to continue strengthening our relationship with the people at our sister church and discern what other ways Harvest can support them and they can support Harvest.

We’re currently partnering with our sister church to :

  • Bring basic goods to Cuba that are impossible or cost-prohibitive to obtain there;
  • Install a water tank at the pastor’s house;
  • Supplement the pastor’s very small monthly salary;
  • Provide lunch there after every Sunday service to which the church and entire community is invited.
