The Time is Coming

Passage: Jeremiah 33:14-16

The time of Jesus’ arrival is coming. The time of God’s righteousness is coming. Do we really want that? Justice and righteousness might be very uncomfortable. Advent is the message that God’s salvation in Jesus is coming. This is not a new thing; we celebrate it each year. Jesus is coming! Every story Jesus tells, every parable, is about the world being turned upside down, last are first, small things become great, and the poor are raised up. Do we really want this? We are very comfortable in our place and station. We just had Thanksgiving and celebrated our abundance. Do we really want the world to be reordered?
