Harvest will be adding fresh fruits and vegetables to the non-perishable bags of groceries provided to students and their families at Abel and Samoset Elementary Schools again this school year. Healthy eating is essential for a child's good health, growth, and development. Research shows that improved student nutrition leads to increased focus and attention, improved test scores, and better classroom behavior. Our prayer for this ministry is for students to reach their full potential physically, emotionally, and spiritually - and hope for a better future.
With your support, students and their families will gain access to fresh produce they may not otherwise be able to obtain or afford. Volunteers are needed as well as financial support to make this ministry a success.
- Volunteer - You can serve by shopping on Tuesdays for fruits then bringing the fruits to Harvest to store overnight. We make it easy by giving you list. On Wednesday mornings, volunteers will pack and/or deliver produce to the schools twice a month.
- Give - With your donation, of any amount, we will be able to buy several Blumenberry Farms subscriptions which will feed the Abel and Samoset students and families. Click here to make an online donation or place your check or cash in an offering envelope. In the memo line, please note school ministry.
New Farm Partnership
Harvest is excited to establish a new partnership with Blumenberry Farms as our source for Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) organic vegetables, and some fruits. With the Blumenberry Farms' program, we are able to order the veggies we know the students and families at our partner schools enjoy and eat.
